How To Write Effective Facebook Ad Copy
How To Write Effective Facebook Ad Copy
In this video I talk about how you can write really effective copy for your Facebook ads.
Most people don’t spend enough time on this, but the text that’s included in your ads is obviously really important.
Whether your using videos or images in your ads, it’s often the text that convinces people to take the action you want them to take…
Or not, if it’s not very compelling.
Firstly, it’s really important to establish your principle hook. What is the number 1 reason why people buy your product or service?
Principle Hook
Does your product or service save them time or money? Does it help them get fantastic results? Or even make them feel good about themselves?
People will buy something if they think it’s going to help them get something they want. Or avoid something they want to avoid.
You need to make that very clear in your ad. This product or service will get you x or stop you getting y.
And both side are really important. I have a gym membership because I want something – I want to be shape. But I use an accountant because I don’t want something – I don’t want to have to do my own tax return.
Most people make the mistake of just talking about what their product or service is and not what it does for their prospects.
There’s also a good chance that what you think is your principle hook, actually isn’t.
When we create campaigns for our clients, we’ll create around 5 different ads with 5 different hooks. And we’re often surprised which one the winner is.
Create Multiple Ads
Finding that winner is critical because that hook, is what will convince them to become customers.
Nearly all products and services will have more than one benefit.
Using the accountant example again, I could:
- Buy their services to save myself time and not do it myself
- Use them to avoid making mistakes and getting penalised by HMRC
- Use them to help me reduce my tax bill.
- etc.
You get the idea.
I would strongly recommend that you create multiple ads, each with a different hook.
Then run those ads to your target market and after about a week see which one performs best. Then pause the others and continue with the winner.
Just that simple exercise will make a big difference to your Facebook ads and the results that you get.
I mentioned at the beginning of the video that Lead Guru is a digital marketing agency and that we specialise in Facebook advertising.
