Simple Meta Ads Library Hack To TRIPLE Facebook Ad Results!

If you’re new to Facebook ads—or even if you’ve been running them for a while without getting the results you want—there’s one powerful tip that could totally change the game for you.

And it’s not about learning everything the hard way. In fact, it’s about not doing that.

Let’s dive in.

The #1 Tip: Don’t Reinvent the Wheel

Too many advertisers try to figure everything out on their own.

Sure, it’s possible… but it’s a long, expensive, and frustrating road. There’s a better way: model what already works.

Yes, you’ve probably heard this advice before. But let me show you how to actually do it—step by step.

Even with over $100 million spent on ads and 11+ years in the game, I still use this strategy. If we’re entering a new market, we go straight to the top performers, see what they’re doing, and model from them. It’s the ability to spy on your competitors in a completely above board kind of way.

(Yes, I will find them… and I will model from them.)

I use Facebook ad library all the time in my business.

Step 1: Go to the Meta Ads Library

Meta gives you a free tool to see what other advertisers are doing. Use it. Just go to Meta Ads Library

How we use the Meta Ad Library.

Here’s what to do:

  • Select the right country. It defaults to where you are, but you want to see where your competitors are advertising. If you’re in the UK but want to see US ads—change the country.
  • Choose ad category. Select “All Ads” unless you’re working in a special category like housing or employment.
  • Search for specific advertisers. Start with competitors you believe are successful. If you’ve seen their ads around, chances are they’re spending consistently.
How to search for an ad in the Meta Ad Library.

Example: If you were in the Facebook ads agency space, you might look up my page—Ben Heath. Be sure to search by Facebook Page name, not just the business name. Facebook lists their advertisers by page name, which can be different from the formal business name.

Step 2: Analyze Their Ads

You can click on an ad to get more details about it.

Once you find the advertisers Meta Ad Library Page, you can see:

  • How many ads they’re running (More ads usually = more testing = more success.)
  • Creative formats: video, image, carousel, etc.
  • Headlines and primary text
  • When the ads launched (they’re listed chronologically)
  • What platforms the ads run on (Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, Audience Network)
  • Variations in copy and creative

Let’s say you click into one ad—you’ll see if they are running versions, what the creative looks like, the body copy, the CTA, and even where the ad takes people (their sales funnel). This is invaluable information that can dramatically cut down your learning curve about what works by days or even years.

Step 3: Follow the Funnel

Click the ad’s call-to-action and see where it leads. This is super helpful for understanding their full strategy.

Are they sending people to:

  • A lead magnet?
  • A product page?
  • A call-booking page?
  • A testimonial page?

Follow the journey. Take notes. You’re now doing what’s often called funnel hacking—figuring out what’s working so you can build something similar (but uniquely yours). That way you aren’t reinventing the wheel and trying to figure it all out yourself.

Step 4: Go Deeper with Transparency Data (EU Ads Only)

EU data can give you even more information.

If the ad is being shown in the EU, you’ll get extra details:

  • Targeting by age and gender
  • Specific reach numbers (though limited)
  • Country-specific transparency

This can be a goldmine, especially if you’re running ads—or your competitors are—in EU markets like Ireland. If you aren’t running ads in the EU, then this data won’t be available, but that’s OK because the Meta ads library will still give you tons of info about your competitors ads.

Step 5: Look for Long-Running Ads

You won’t be able to see results (like ROAS) directly in the Meta Ads Library, but there’s a trick that can tell you with a high degree of accuracy what ads work the best.

Find the ads that have been running the longest.

  • If it’s been live for 3+ months, and especially 6+ months, it’s probably working well.
  • Businesses don’t keep losing money on ads for that long—they turn off what doesn’t work.

So look at the oldest active ads and ask:

  • What creative format is it?
  • What hooks are they using?
  • What’s the structure of their funnel?
  • What benefits are they leading with?

These are your best bets for modeling.

How to Effectively Use the Information from Meta Ad Library

Don't just copy other people's ads.

When modeling successful ads, keep these tips in mind:

  • Don’t copy. Replicate the structure and strategy, not the exact ad. Copying probably won’t work as well for you as it does for the original advertiser and it makes people mad.
  • Stay realistic. Don’t try to replicate high-budget creatives if you can’t match them—keep looking until you find ads you can emulate.
  • Use multiple sources. Look at both big and small competitors for ideas.
  • Filter for active ads. Especially if you’re in a special ad category, be sure you’re only modeling ads that are currently running.
  • Use what your competitors are doing to create GUIDELINES for your ads. Use the successful ads as inspiration for structure and benefits that are working.
