What Are Facebook Custom Audiences?

In this video I explain what Facebook custom audiences are and why they are so valuable.

So a Custom Audience is an ad targeting option that lets you find people who already know your business on Facebook.

The last part of that definition is key. A custom audience contains people that already know your business on Facebook.

And we’ve all heard that people buy from people and companies that they know like and trust.

People that are already aware of your business are far more likely to buy your products and services, than those that aren’t.

You can make custom audiences from all sort of things and let’s quickly go through a few examples.

What You Can Use To Create A Custom Audience

You can upload an email list to Facebook and use that to create a custom audience.

And that means you’ll be able to specifically advertise to the people on your email list.

Another option, provided you have the Facebook Pixel installed on your website, is to create a custom audience out of website traffic

One of the great things about this type of custom audience is that you can be very specific.

You can advertise to everyone that has visited your website. Or you can create custom audiences from people that have visited specific pages on your website.

So if someone visits a page about a specific product or service, you can tailor the ad that you show to them, to that particular product or service.

Another option and one of my favourites, is video viewers.

Anyone that has watched a video of yours on Facebook can be added to a custom audience.

Which is brilliant because advertising to people that have already watched a video of yours is much more effective than advertising to cold audiences.

There are a few more options, but those three are the main ones we use. And I want to keep this video short so I won’t go over them here.
